Knox Central Primary School has an interesting history which spans more than half a century.
Studfield State School (No 4920) opened in 1965 on a site bounded by Coleman Road, Bindi Street and Aisbett Avenue, Wantirna South and merged with Studfield East Primary School on our current site in Darwin Road Boronia in 1993. At this time, the school was renamed Yawarra Primary School.
In 2012, Yawarra Primary School Council began discussions regarding the possibility of a change of school name which better reflected the school’s location in the Knox Central precinct. After community consultation and DEECD approval, Yawarra Primary School was renamed Knox Central Primary School in 2013.
The 50th Anniversary of Knox Central Primary School, incorporating Studfield State School, Studfield East Primary School and Yawarra Primary School, was honoured in 2015, with current and former students, families, staff and the local community coming together to celebrate.
The history of our school is rich, with so many memories shared, and so much inspiring learning taking place over the last 54 years.
